I have been in the translation business for over 10 years and
translated marketing material, business correspondence, websites, museum guides and leaflets, product documentation and other types of documents for various clients: multinational companies, SMEs, public bodies, government institutions and private clients.
What I bring to translation is my passion and in-depth knowledge of my specialist fields, excellent research skills and attention to detail. I approach each project which I embark upon with my clients with the same care and enthusiasm as the members of your own team will do.
I am a professionally qualified translator, editor and proof-reader. I hold a
BA in Philosophy and History of Art and Architecture from the
University of Reading (UK) and an
MA in Bilingual Translation from the
University of Westminster in London. I am also a
Qualified Member of the
Institute of Translation and Interpreting, Member of the
Chartered Institute of Linguists, and Member of the
Associação Portuguesa de Tradutores e Intérpretes (APTRAD).
Apart from running a translation business, I also contribute to the training of new translators, working as a Polish translation instructor on the
TranslatorTraining distance learning course (leading to the CIOL Diploma in Translation exam) and as a
Visiting Lecturer at the University of Westminster, where I teach institutional translation at Masters’ level.
In addition to my professional qualifications, I also have a
deep understanding of the three cultures and markets I deal with: born and raised in Poland, I spent nearly 10 years in the UK, where I completed my studies and started a career as a translator. In 2009, I relocated to Portugal, but each year I spend a substantial amount of academic term-time in the UK (where I teach translation) and in Poland (from where I work for a few months a year). This allows me to maintain strong links and always be up-to-date with the three languages and cultures I work with.
